Classic Cheeseburger Recipe

Ingredients

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

For the Cheese Sauce:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Assembling the Burger:

  • 4 brioche or sesame seed buns, toasted
  • 4 slices of lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • ½ small red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup pickles, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons burger sauce (or mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard mixed)

Method

Step 1: Make the Burger Patties

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Form into 4 equal-sized patties, about ¾-inch thick.
  3. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging while cooking.

Step 2: Cook the Patties

  1. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, flipping once, until browned and cooked to desired doneness.
  3. Remove from heat and let rest while preparing the toppings.

Step 3: Make the Cheese Sauce

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, warm heavy cream until it begins to steam.
  2. Add shredded cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika, stirring until smooth.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and keep warm.

Step 4: Assemble the Burgers

  1. Spread burger sauce on the bottom buns.
  2. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and burger patty.
  3. Drizzle the cheese sauce over the patty.
  4. Add onions and pickles, then cover with the top bun.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve immediately with a side of fries, onion rings, or coleslaw.
  • Enjoy this juicy, cheesy classic!
